Brad & Erica‘s wedding day started out rainy. Like…RAINY. The weather said it was supposed to change over to snow later in the day and I was crossing ALL of my fingers and toes that it was actually going to happen. Believe me, when you plan a winter wedding, you expect snow, not rain!! Despite the weather, everyone was SO excited about the wedding!! Erica and all her girls were chatting and laughing away in the hair salon, and although Brad was nervous, he was still excited. Have I mentioned that Brad is my husbands cousin & I photographed his SENIOR pictures?? (I’m seriously old…this is the second senior I’ve had as a bride or groom!!) Because of this, I was far more ok with telling him to chill out and JUST BREATHE ????. The sleet was starting when I did the guys photos it was starting to turn into tiiiiiiiny flakes when I got back to the girls. Erica got into her dress and nervously put her earrings in – also, guys…wait until you see her. ICE PRINCESS, Y’ALL.
Brad & Erica got married in the same church that his parents got married in 20+ years ago in the small town over – it’s one of those perfect little white churches you see driving through rural areas. As soon as Erica started to walk down the aisle, the most PERFECT fluffy white snowflakes started to fall. It was truly the best way to start their life together!! They read their own vows (and I watched all the bridesmaids tear up), and after the ceremony rang the bell to announce their marriage to the village.
We headed back to the lake for photos, and at this time the snow was falling as the sun was setting with the tiny town lit up in the back. I know I keep saying it, but it was the PERFECT little small town wedding!! Their reception took place at The Inn on Main in their barn, and it was so beautiful!! Listening to all the toasts from their bridal party and parents showed what truly sweet and amazing people they are. I mean, I love them because they’re family, but I also love them because they’re totally fine with me pulling them out of their reception in the snow to shoot more photos ????. Brad and Erica, I am SO excited that you’re finally married & I’m SO honored that I was able to capture your day for you!!! xoxo
