My first session of the year (on New Year’s Day!), was with my parents & their adored 1967 Volkswagen Bus…aka the Beach Machine (I actually thought that’s what these were called until I was about 10!). I have so many memories from when I was little & bouncing around in the back seat with my sister. My dad would always take it out on Saturdays and drive it around – he taught the two oldest boys next door to us how to drive a standard with it. It’s such a beautiful car that my parents have loved for years. The best part of this shoot? Riding down to the beach in it & watching people drive slowly past it. It’s a classic!! We had so much fun shooting & I was loving the fact that I wasn’t freezing my face off while I was shooting :). The sunset was stunning & I couldn’t have asked for a better shoot to start my year off!!
