When I first heard about James & Annie’s “untraditional” backyard wedding in Chatham, I was instantly hooked. Annie described it as a huge party with all their favorite people – complete with a clambake, lawn games & an ice cream truck. So basically…the most fun wedding ever. When I arrived at the house that they had rented on Mill Pond in Chatham (right down the street from the lighthouse!), I was blown away by how gorgeous the location was & how sweet & welcoming their families were. The details of their day were absolute perfection, and I wish we could do it again!!
James & Annie’s first look took place across the pond from the venue (if you look in the background, you can see the big tent set up!) & it was so sweet. Annie grew up at her grandmothers house in the summer, which was right down the street and it was the most idyllic Cape house I’ve ever seen! I mentioned how awesome their families were, right? Wait until you see their nieces as flower girls!! Seriously, #flowergirlgoals. Annie’s brother officiated the waterfront ceremony & her dad played an original song on the piano during it. Cocktail hour was a great affair with live music & everyone spread out over the property, playing corn hole & croquet. Clambakes Etc did an amazing job with their clambake, and after some of the sweetest & most hilarious toasts (and the first dance!!) – the ice cream truck arrived. PSA: if you have an ice cream truck at your wedding, I will love you forever. Just saying.
James & Annie, not only are you two incredible people, but you are SO obviously loved by your friends & family & it was an absolute honor to be able to witness & document your day for you. (Oh also – I forgot to mention that Annie is cousins with one of my brides from last summer – so it was so cool to see some very familiar faces!!) I hope that you all love these photos as much as I do!!!
