Oh gosh you guys, this wedding…I don’t even know where to start. Eric & Jenna were married on a BEAUTIFUL August day at the Guilford Yacht Club (on the water!) in Connecticut. I truly could not love these two any more, and it’s safe to say that I cried approximately 4,753 times during the day…and while culling the photos…and while editing…and while blogging this. It’s fine.
I’ve known Jenna for most of my life (and Kyle! The best man at the wedding!), and watching someone whom you’ve literally grown up with get married…it’s the best feeling. Seeing her dad come in and help her tie the bow on her wedding dress, watching him put her earrings in for her because she was too nervous & seeing the tenderness with which he did so – I’ve seen him take care of her like that her whole life and it was something incredible to watch again as an adult. Having known this family for so long gave me a rare glimpse of insight that I usually don’t have the privilege of seeing on a wedding day.
The first time I teared up was when Jenna’s dad came in to help her – then when I saw her fully done up as a bride (!) – walking down the aisle – dancing with her new husband – dancing with her dad – you get the idea, right? This was truly one of the most emotional weddings that I’ve EVER been to in my entire life…it was magical and sweet and fun (I got to be a guest at the end!) – plus they had a gluten free pie station so EVERYBODY WON.
A massive summer storm rolled in (seriously, wait until you see the picture – you’ll see exactly what I’m talking about), and the sky opened mere minutes after everyone rushed inside from the ceremony. The night ended with a stunning golden light, too much dancing – and did I mention the pie??
Jenna & Eric – you are two of my favorite people and I am so incredibly honored (indebted, happy, thrilled) that you chose me to witness & capture your wedding day for you. It was truly one of the most special days that I’ve seen & I love you both lots!!
