To veil or not to veil – that is the question. It seems like such a silly one (I definitely thought so when I got married!) but sometimes, a veil just makes your dress *that* much better. I’ve seen short veils, long veils, homemade veils, lace trimmed veils – you name it, I’ve photographed it. I understand how much they cost, too!! Some brides don’t have a few hundred dollars to drop on a veil (um, HI) – but don’t worry!! You can buy them on AMAZON!! I bought mine literally a week before our wedding ($15!) & was not expecting much when I received it – and it was absolutely gorgeous (and so long that I cut a full 3 feet off of it!). I loved how it looked with my dress & how much more elegant it made it. I’m also a HUGE fan of veil shots (if you’ve followed me for any amount of time you already know this!). They add another beautiful dimension to your portraits & make all my brides feel so princess-y!!
Most brides don’t wear them the entire day but keep them in for the ceremony & portraits. That way, you’re not worrying about tripping on it during cocktail hour or having it yanked out by overzealous hugs. Some brides don’t even wear them for the first look so that they can surprise their groom with a new look when they walk down the aisle. So yes, if you were to ask me to veil or not to veil – I’d say VEIL IT UP, GIRL!!
